Whether you’re building a fence to keep pets out of your yard or to keep the kids safe, a wood frame stucco fence can be a good choice. These fences can be installed quickly and easily and they are very affordable.

Before you start to build the fence, it is important to understand how to properly prepare the wooden frame and stucco. This will ensure that you have a sturdy and durable fence that will last for years.

Step 1: Prepare Your Frame

To begin the process of putting together your wood frame, you will need to sink the posts into the ground. Depending on the type of wood you use, you may need to soak it in water before putting it into the ground. Once the posts are in place, you will want to make sure they are all at the correct height. If the post is too tall, it will be hard to put the stucco on top of it.

Next, you will need to mix the cement to ensure that it is evenly spread throughout the entire frame. To do this, you will need a large bucket and a wide brush. You will also need to sand down the wooden frame, as well as any areas where the posts are touching it.

Step 2: Mix Stucco

Before putting any of the stuccoes on your fence, it is important to make sure that the cement is mixed to the proper consistency. The correct consistency is when you can hold the mortar on a trowel at a 90-degree angle and it won’t hang over the edges of the lath.

Once the mortar is properly mixed, you can begin to assemble your fence. This can be a challenging task, especially if you are not used to using stucco on a large scale. If you are not comfortable with putting the stucco on your fence, it may be best to hire a professional.

Step 3: Apply the Basecoat

To complete your wood frame stucco fence, you will need to apply a base coat of mortar to the bottom of the frame. This will allow the mortar to hold the framework of the fence together. When this is done, you can begin putting the stucco on the fence.

Step 4: Apply the Scratch Coat

After the base coat is dry, you can begin applying the scratch coat to your wood frame fence. This will protect it from harsh weather conditions and help keep the fence looking fresh.

This step is important because it will keep your fence from cracking as it dries. This can be a big problem if you don’t do this step correctly. You can avoid this by making sure that you apply the stucco on a cool day and avoid direct sunlight.
