How to Install Chain Link Fence?

Installing a chain link fence involves a few different elements. The first is a tie wire, which attaches the fencing to the top rail. The next is a brace band, which is used to attach the bottom tension wire to the posts. Finally, the last hook-up is made by the tension bar in the mesh.

Before installing the fence, the fence post should be level. If it is not, you can trim it to the correct height. It is also important to make sure that the top rail is not too high. This will prevent the fence from bending. The end of the rail should be at least 50mm higher than the mesh. You can install one or two horse-shoe stakes between the posts.

The tie wire can be installed on the inside of the fence or on the outside. The tie wire should be installed on every 12 to 16 inches of the line post. This is a recommended spacing for the tie wire, as it will give a good connection.

To install the tie wire, you will need a T-bar, which is a short pipe with a handle. The T-bar should be wrapped around the top and bottom of the wire several times. You can use pliers to twist the top and bottom loops of the single strand of wire. The other end of the wire should be inserted into the nut and bolt.

You will also need a socket wrench or ratchet to tighten the brace band to the top of the rail. You will need to slide the top brace clamp up the terminal post about two inches. This will allow you to thread the nut and bolt through.

The tie wire can also be connected to a come-a-long winch. This tool will create a lot of tension and pull the fence fabric toward the terminal post. The come-a-long is a manually operated winch. You can also use an electric winch. However, the come-a-long will be difficult to work with if you have to bend the posts. You should wear gloves and goggles.

Once the top rail is installed, you will need to secure the ends of the rail with carriage bolts. These bolts should be 5/16″ x 1-1/4″ and should be installed outside the fence. You should place one or two horse-shoe stakes to catch the bottom tension wire. This will ensure that the rail is held in place.

If you need to unwind the tension wire, you can do so by walking along the fence line. Once you have done this, you can cut the wire to the desired length. You can then tie the loose end to the terminal post. This will ensure that you don’t have to go back to the top of the fence. You can also wrap the tension wire with hog rings.

As you can see, installing a chain link fence can be a simple task, if you have the right tools and the right people to help you. The end result will be a beautiful fence that will keep you and your family safe.
